Castling

The king moves two squares towards a rook, and that rook jumps to the other side of the king

En Passant

If an opponent’s pawn moves two squares forward from its starting rank and lands next to your pawn, your pawn can capture it if it was previous move

Pawn Promotion

When a pawn reaches the last rank (8th for White, 1st for Black), it must be promoted. There is no limit for promoting

Check

When king is being attacked it is check and at that case the king must move from the attacking square

Checkmate

When king is being attacked and at the same time king has no escape, it is checkmate

Stalemate

When king is not being attacked but at the same time king has no squares to escape, it is stalemate

Pin

In this position black has the advantage but because of the pin black cannot play with the rook

Skewer

This is the opposite of the pin. Here king has to play because it is check and where ever king moves white will take the rook with bisop

Fork is wanting a piece and at the same time wanting one another piece. Most forks are becoming with knights

Discovered Attack

Discover attack is moving a piece and giving check with the piece behind the moved piece

Double Check

When 2 pieces attack the king at the same time, it is double check

Deflection

Deflection is removing the protector of a piece then taking that piece

Zwischenzug

Zwischenzug is to move the king far away from the piece to do not protect it

Overloading

While a piece is defending 2 squares not to lose we use 1 square to remove the protector and win with the other square

Back Rank Mate

Back rank mate is to mate the king with using it's own pawns not to run away
